Biodiversity Protection Through Climate-Adapted Resource use by Local Fisher Communities, Mozambique

This project in coastal Quirimbas National Park (QNP), Mozambique works directly with coastal communities in to implement climate-adapted and sustainable practices for the use of marine and coastal resources. The project design is based on Climate Vulnerability studies, and project activities include the implementation of temporary closures for octopus (Octopus cyanea). TLLG are supporting the development and implementation of livelihood initiatives supported by the project, including vocational skills training and a savings group programme. TLLG are also supporting on the longer-term sustainability of the programme.
