Technical Assistance for Social Forestry Project Development in Merangin Regency, Indonesia
Perkumpulan Alam Hijau (A-Hi) are preparing the project Realizing Sustainable Forest Governance in Social Forestry Areas in the Landscape of Kerinci Sebelat National Park, Merangin Regency for certification under the Climate, Community and Biodiversity (CCB) Standards and on-boarding to the Rimba Collective. TLLG provided technical assistance over a six-month period that involved working closely with A-Hi and the communities of Tanjung Dalam, Lubuk Birah, Lubuk Beringin and Birun Villages to develop the information required to draft a CCB Project Concept Note.
TLLG provided support and capacity building to the A-Hi project team, to build their understanding and enable them to play a leading role in information-gathering activities. Each activity was introduced to the project team and training in facilitation was provided. The project team then completed the activities with assistance and guidance from TLLG, with direct supervision from TLLG in two Villages and remote support for the other two. Fieldwork reports provided by the A-Hi project team were used to compile the CCB Project Concept Note that was submitted to Rimba Collective.
